Amazon is reportedly negotiating to acquire the artificial intelligence startup Decart, with a potential valuation of around 7 billion USD. Decart, headquartered in San Francisco, specializes in developing cross-chip compatibility software that allows developers to switch seamlessly between different AI chips. This foundational software capability is becoming increasingly critical as major tech giants compete for computational resources.

Insiders indicate that if negotiations proceed smoothly and no new bidders emerge, the deal may be finalized soon.

Research firm PitchBook has reported that Decart has previously raised over 400 million USD from well-known venture capital firms including Sequoia Capital, Benchmark, and Radical Ventures. In a funding round earlier this year in May, Decart's valuation was nearing 4 billion USD.

Notably, Bloomberg reported in August that Anthropic had previously discussed acquiring Decart for about 6 billion USD, but it was reported in September that Anthropic had abandoned the acquisition plans. The news was reported by ITHome.
