Amazon Introduces Alexa Tablets with Google Play Support
Amazon has announced three new devices called Amazon Alexa Tablets, which represent a more advanced category than traditional Fire Tablets.
Unlimit Tech reported that these devices integrate the AI-enhanced Alexa+ assistant and support the Google Play store, allowing users to access Android applications. The Alexa+ assistant enables natural conversations without requiring a wake word and includes an optional, manually activated feature to understand screen content.
The Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro features a 12-inch screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor, up to 16 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of storage. It offers up to 16 hours of video playback and starts at 500 dollars, with options for higher memory and an anti-reflective screen.
The Amazon Alexa Tablet 11 has an 11-inch screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek MT8189 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and 64 or 128 GB of storage, starting at 330 dollars with 15 hours of video playback. The Amazon Alexa Tablet 8 features an 8.7-inch screen, a MediaTek MT8189 processor, 4 or 8 GB of RAM, and starts at 230 dollars with 14 hours of video playback.
Shipments begin on October 14 in the United States and October 19 in the United Kingdom. While the Pro model is ad-free, the smaller models may include lock screen advertisements that can be removed for 20 dollars.
