Tesla has announced the presentation date for the new Roadster and has begun sending event invitations to reservation holders.

Teknoblog reported that the event is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026, at 03:30 Turkey time. The gathering will take place in Waco, Texas, to showcase the updated version of the electric sports car that has been under development for years. The company has not stated that customer deliveries will begin on the same day.

Elon Musk confirmed the announcement of the presentation date, which was initially shared on September 12. A countdown added to the Roadster page also points to this event, establishing a new public showing schedule. This schedule remains separate from any commitments regarding production or customer delivery.

Details in the digital invitation specify that attendance is limited to invitees aged 21 and older, and invitations are non-transferable. The company requires a response for attendance, indicating that the invitation does not function as a general ticket for a public car exhibition. While the event is located in Waco, near the SpaceX McGregor test facility, the invitation does not disclose the exact name of the facility.

The project has a history of delays, having been first shown in November 2017 with an initial delivery target of 2020. Although this new presentation represents a concrete step in the development process, it does not automatically validate previous production expectations. The first showing had occurred at the end of the Tesla Semi presentation.

There are reports that a limited production version featuring cold gas thrusters linked to SpaceX may be part of the demonstration, but Tesla has not released the full event program. Statements by Musk regarding acceleration and short-term liftoff have not yet been supported by independent test results. Consequently, the potential content of the show should not be equated with the final equipment of the standard car for sale.

It remains unclear whether the company will provide a live stream, offer test drives to participants, or disclose specific production features. Separate announcements are required for pricing, mass production, and initial delivery dates.
