Samsung launches Galaxy A08 with larger battery and improved water and dust resistance

Samsung quietly announced the launch of the Galaxy A08 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, featuring two main improvements over its predecessor: a larger battery and a higher protection rating against dust and water, while most other specifications remain nearly the same. The device comes with a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with a resolution of +HD (1600 × 720 pixels) and a battery capacity of 6,000 milliampere-hours, supporting 25-watt fast wired charging, a noticeable upgrade from the Galaxy A07. The Galaxy A08 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, with 4 gigabytes of LPDDR5X RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal storage, expandable via microSD cards up to 2 terabytes.

It operates on Android 17 with One UI 9.0 out of the box, and Samsung promises six major system updates and security updates for up to six years. In terms of camera, the device features a 50-megapixel main rear camera (with an aperture of F1.8), a 2-megapixel auxiliary camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera. It supports Full HD video recording at 30 frames per second from both front and rear cameras. The phone offers connectivity options including GPS, 4G LTE networks, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB Type-C 2.0 port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, but it does not support NFC.

The company has not yet revealed the price of the Galaxy A08, which will be available in three colors: dark blue, green, and silver.
