On September 30, 2026, OpenAI introduced a new package named Pro 500 priced at 16,000 THB per month. This package is designed for high-performance tasks, featuring Ultrafast, which accelerates text and code generation within the Codex and Work applications at a rate of up to 300 tokens per second, catering to developers and organizations.

The price increase is noteworthy, as OpenAI was the first to enter the market with a high-priced package of $200 per month in late 2024. Shortly after, competitors like Anthropic and Perplexity launched similar pricing plans, indicating a strong possibility that this new price threshold of $500 may set a standard for other AI companies to follow in the near future.

Existing users of the previous $200 plan received disappointing news, as OpenAI announced a reduction in value. The usage quota for Codex and Work was decreased from 20 times that of the Plus package to only 10 times.

Additionally, the limit for messaging with GPT-6 Pro on ChatGPT was halved from 200 messages per week to 100 messages per week. However, OpenAI confirmed that current members would retain their original privileges for a while longer and will receive a one-time special credit to mitigate the impact of this reduction.

Moreover, OpenAI not only announced a reduction in privileges but also introduced an interesting new feature. All users on the Pro package will receive Dot, a personal AI agent designed to assist with various tasks. The advantage is that all conversations with Dot will not count towards the usage limits of ChatGPT.

Furthermore, OpenAI partnered with major allies such as Notion and Cognition, along with 16 leading companies, to launch the Sign in with ChatGPT system. This new system allows Plus and Pro customers to access AI models within partner applications conveniently, eliminating the previous hassle of setting up API Key credentials.
