Huawei launches Mate 90 RS with ultra‑luxury design and up to 2TB storage
Huawei announced the Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design as a premium variant of the Mate 90 Pro Max on October 1 2026. The device adopts a supercar‑inspired rear finish and offers three colour options: crimson red, white and black. A distinctive eight‑sided camera module is paired with a raised strip that runs from the centre of the camera block to the lower half of the phone, giving it a unique silhouette. The phone shares the same imaging system as the Mate 90 Pro Max, featuring a 50‑megapixel RYYB sensor of 1/1.28‑inch size with a variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0, a 200‑megapixel periscope camera with 4× optical zoom, and a 40‑megapixel ultra‑wide lens.
An external Ruiying Z10 photography module can be added, providing a 1‑inch RYYB sensor of 50 megapixels and a focal‑length range of 24 to 240 mm; this accessory costs 5,999 yuan and is sold separately. Core hardware remains identical to the Pro Max, including the Kirin 9500 Pro processor, a 6.9‑inch Tandem LTPO OLED display and a 6,800 mAh battery. Storage capacity is where the RS model diverges, offering up to 2 TB compared with the 1 TB limit of the Pro Max. The RS version also receives an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance and supports satellite communication.
Three configuration tiers are planned: 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage, 16 GB RAM with 1 TB storage, and the top model with 16 GB RAM and 2 TB storage. Prices start at 12,999 yuan for the base version, rise to 14,999 yuan for the 1‑TB variant and reach 18,999 yuan for the 2‑TB model. Shipments in China are scheduled to begin on November 11.
