Huawei launches Qingyun L420z business laptop with OLED display and extended battery life

Huawei has launched its new laptop, Qingyun L420z, targeting the business sector in the Chinese market. This model replaces the Qingyun L420x and is designed to compete with the MacBook Neo, which is priced at 699 USD. The device features a full metal body with a slim and lightweight design, measuring 226.8x 312.6 x 14.5 mm and weighing 1.32 kg, slightly heavier than the MacBook Neo at 1.23 kg.

The new laptop comes with a 14.2-inch OLED touchscreen display, boasting a resolution of 2880x 1920 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 450 nits, and full coverage of 100% for both sRGB and P3 color spaces. Although Huawei has not disclosed the processor details, it has confirmed that it is paired with a quad-channel LPDDR5x RAM and includes a built-in port for fast SSD storage.

The device is powered by a 70 watt-hour battery, allowing up to 14 hours of continuous operation on a single charge. Connectivity options include a USB-C port, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, an RJ45 Ethernet port, and a physical privacy switch, along with support for Wi-Fi at 2.5 and 5 GHz and Bluetooth 5.2. The laptop also features an HD webcam, a full-sized backlit keyboard, a fingerprint sensor integrated with the power button, dual speakers, and dual microphones. Organizations can choose between the local desktop operating system Galaxy Kylin or UnionTech, though Huawei has not announced official pricing or a potential global launch date.
