Free announced it will acquire SFR without altering current mobile service contracts. The move follows recent industry shifts in foldable smartphone formats. Free’s chief executive stated the company would maintain existing pricing and service terms for all subscribers.

The acquisition comes as foldable smartphones gain traction, with Xiaomi joining Huawei, Samsung and Apple in adopting the passport-style design. Free did not disclose financial details of the deal, and no timeline was provided for completion.

Numerama reported the story.
