Content Startup Funding Reaches 47.1 Billion KRW
The funding for content startups has reached 47.1 billion KRW, according to recent reports. This figure reflects the cumulative investment secured through the Gyeonggi Level Up Program, which aims to support the growth and investment acquisition of content startups in the region. The announcement was made by the Gyeonggi Content Agency, which will host the 2026 Gyeonggi Level Up Demo Day on November 4, 2026.
The upcoming event will take place at the Gyeonggi Creative Innovation Center in Pangyo, beginning at 1 PM. It is designed to provide a platform for promising content startups to present their business models to professional investors and seek subsequent investment opportunities. Approximately 150 attendees, including representatives from private investment firms and supported companies, are expected to participate in the event.
The Demo Day will feature a core session where twelve content startups will present their business models in three distinct groups based on their sectors: subculture and commerce, content and solutions, and converged content. Each group will showcase four companies that will discuss their growth strategies and business models.
Furthermore, a talk concert will be held during the Demo Day, featuring representatives from investment firms specializing in entertainment and content. This discussion will focus on what investors look for when evaluating investment opportunities in content intellectual property (IP). Notable panelists include the heads of SM Culture Partners, JYP Partners, and SmartStudy Ventures.
The Gyeonggi Content Agency stated that the event is intended to create connections between startups and investors, facilitating further discussions on potential investments. The agency aims to help startups understand investor interests and refine their future funding strategies.
The Gyeonggi Level Up Program is a significant initiative aimed at fostering the investment and growth of local content startups. The Demo Day will serve as both a summary of this year’s program achievements and a follow-up event to bridge connections between participating startups and investors. The head of the Gyeonggi Content Agency expressed optimism that the Demo Day will lead to further investment opportunities, emphasizing the importance of continuous business model innovation and the expansion potential of content IP in various industries.
