Genome Company Acquires Allbloom to Expand US K-Beauty Distribution
Genome Company announced that it will acquire a controlling stake in Allbloom, a US-based K-beauty distributor, through its newly established subsidiary Bloom Partners. The transaction secures a 64.46 percent ownership in Allbloom, granting Genome access to an established distribution network and logistics infrastructure in the United States. This acquisition aligns with Genome’s strategy to expand the overseas sales of its proprietary microbiome skin-care brand UIQ. UIQ, launched in 2021, has experienced rapid growth, with revenue rising from approximately 8 billion won in 2024 to an estimated 12 billion won in 2025. The brand previously opened an official Amazon storefront in May of last year, focusing on online sales. By integrating Allbloom’s distribution channels, Genome aims to introduce UIQ into major US retail outlets such as Target and MINISO. While Allbloom currently partners with several K-beauty brands for export and domestic sales, UIQ is not yet listed with these partners.
Genome plans to negotiate new placement agreements using Allbloom’s existing buyer relationships. The deal reflects broader trends of increasing demand for Korean cosmetics in the United States, where exports reached a record 11.4 billion dollars in 2025. US imports of Korean cosmetics grew 40.6 percent year‑over‑year from January to September 2026, underscoring the market’s expansion. Genome emphasizes that acquiring a distributor with proven US market experience shortens the timeline for establishing a physical presence, avoiding the need to build a distribution organization from scratch. The acquisition also provides Genome with a stable revenue base derived from Allbloom’s existing operations, which totaled roughly 23 billion won in 2025, up 29.6 percent from the previous year. Genome intends to retain Allbloom’s current brand partnerships while exploring opportunities to add new brands and sales channels.
The company also highlighted that the integration will enable tighter coordination between its brand strategy and US market entry, allowing for more precise control over pricing, supply, and after‑sales service. However, the success of UIQ’s offline sales will depend on the conclusion of entry agreements and consumer response across different retail platforms. Genome’s CEO, Bae Ji‑soo, stated that the acquisition is a strategic move to leverage a proven distribution foundation and to amplify global growth prospects for UIQ. He added that Genome will continue to work with Allbloom’s established network to secure additional retail partners and to advance the brand’s offline expansion plan.
