Cloudflare has launched Clef, a decision-making model based on the Jev model, which was introduced in mid-September. Clef is developed from Qwen, serving as the core model, while the standard Clef version utilizes Qwen3.8-27B.

Clef-flash is built from Qwen3.5-9B, but it operates only during the prefill stage and does not run decode like typical LLMs. The output will only offer options based on the defined schema. Clef demonstrates decision-making capabilities comparable to Jev, only falling short in agent trace testing.

The cost for using Clef is $0.24 per million tokens, while Clef-flash is priced at $0.09 per million tokens. Blognone reported the story.
