Xiaomi 18 smartphone to launch with dual 200MP cameras

A new smartphone, named Xiaomi 18, is set to be launched in December, according to leaks from Smart Pikachu. The device will feature a compact design with a 6.4-inch display and a metal body, equipped with two rear cameras, each boasting a resolution of 200 megapixels. This specification aligns with the more expensive models in the series.

However, the basic model will not include the Privacy Display feature, which restricts viewing angles to protect displayed content from prying eyes. The Xiaomi 18 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor and include a large 7000 milliampere-hour battery. It may lack the secondary rear display and large camera sensors found in Pro models to reduce costs, positioning it as a competitive option among compact flagship smartphones, potentially priced lower than the expected 1399 euro price tag for the Xiaomi 18 Pro in European markets, which is approximately 1559 US dollars.
