VentureSquare to host OPEN UP workshop on negotiation tactics for startups on September 9
VentureSquare will host a workshop titled ‘OPEN UP: Negotiation tactics that move the strong’ on September 9 at 5 p.m. in Seoul’s Seocho District, Korean Conference Center, to help startups turn proposals into decisions. The event targets founders facing stalled negotiations with customers, investors, or large corporations, offering strategies to align their offerings with the other party’s decision-making criteria. VentureSquare reported the story.
The workshop focuses on identifying the conditions that motivate the other side rather than perfecting presentation skills. Speakers include Woo Jun-ho, a model for the drama Negotiation Tactics, Rocca CEO Ha Gyeong-su, and VentureSquare CEO Myeong Seung-eun. Woo will share methods for preparing negotiations, building trust, and designing frameworks based on the counterpart’s interests. Ha will discuss bridging gaps with large corporations, drawing on experience from both startup and corporate perspectives. Myeong will lead a panel discussion on adapting approaches to different negotiation partners.
Sessions include keynotes on negotiation principles, case talks on real-world turning points, and a panel on tailored strategies for customers, investors, and corporations. A live clinic will diagnose stalled negotiations using pre-submitted and on-site questions, offering next-step questions and conditions to restart discussions. Participants can bring current issues such as investment talks, contract adjustments, pricing negotiations, or corporate collaborations.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on September 9 with a registration fee of 55,000 won. Applications close at noon on the event day via the Eventers event page. Attendees are advised to use public transport or nearby paid parking as no on-site parking is available.
Organizers emphasize that negotiation is less about imposing conditions and more about finding shared reasons to move forward. The workshop aims to help startups rediscover their value and advance stalled talks by aligning their proposals with the counterpart’s decision-making structure.
