Ravical raises 17 million dollars in seed round led by MMC Ventures
Ravical, a provider of an artificial intelligence platform for accounting and tax firms, announced on October 29 that it has secured 17 million dollars in a seed funding round. The investment was led by MMC Ventures. The company stated that the funds will be used to strengthen its operations in the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, expand into other parts of Europe, and enter the United States. This round brings the company's total funding to 25 million dollars. The valuation was not disclosed. Existing investors Lakestar and Pitchdrive, along with new investor Shapers, participated in the round. The platform is already used by more than 100 accounting firms in Europe. BRIDGE reported the story. The company noted that the traditional model of accounting firms, which relied on hiring staff and selling their knowledge, is facing challenges. Demand for services continues to grow, but the number of new graduates entering the industry is declining, and hiring experienced professionals has become difficult. Artificial intelligence can now perform many tasks that previously required manual labor, and specialized knowledge is easily accessible to clients and competitors through search.
According to the company's own research, 70 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises in the United Kingdom act on artificial intelligence advice without consulting an accountant. Ravical believes that the remaining differentiator for firms is the unique expertise of how top talent makes judgments, provides advice, and completes work. However, in many firms, this expertise remains with the individual and only reaches the clients they personally handle. The company provides a system that translates the work methods of a firm's top talent into common procedures, which artificial intelligence then executes for all clients. While individual artificial intelligence tools only speed up one person's work, Ravical explains that its platform enhances the capability of the entire firm. The product centers on four features. Signal continuously reads emails, documents, transactions, and client interactions to identify work that presents revenue opportunities. Workflows extracts client situations, executes procedures, involves the appropriate specialists, and pauses the process at stages where an advisor must make a judgment, ensuring consistent work for every client.
Price sets fees based on outcomes rather than time spent, using the firm's past performance, fee schedules, and advice content. Control allows management to view on a single screen how artificial intelligence is used within the firm, the costs involved, and the value generated. By the time users start their computers, preparation is complete, and evidence and reasoning are provided, allowing advisors to focus on review, correction, and approval. Gascoynes, a UK accounting firm that adopted the platform, stated that it now handles complex tax matters such as inheritance tax and research and development tax credits in-house, which it previously outsourced to external specialists. The firm reported a 49 percent year-on-year increase in tax planning fees, with almost all of the growth coming from existing clients.
