NEC’s LAVIE summer 2026 line-up unveiled with new AI notebooks, slimmer models and Android tablets

NEC Personal Computers (NECPC) has introduced the summer 2026 range of its consumer LAVIE series, featuring refreshed notebooks, desktops and tablets. Shipments to retailers are scheduled to begin on August 27, the company said.

The flagship update is the 16-inch notebook LAVIE N16, which has undergone a full redesign. It now sports a 16.0-inch WUXGA display with about 11 percent more vertical screen area than the previous 15.6-inch model, while weighing roughly 2.0 kg. The machine targets longevity with a new keyboard that includes a water-drain hole, a larger touchpad, a dedicated “zoom key” on the F11 button, and a self-maintenance chassis that allows users to swap batteries, upgrade memory and add a second SSD without tools.

Top-tier variants of the LAVIE N16 will ship with AMD’s Ryzen AI 400 series processors, delivering up to 50 TOPS of neural processing power and qualifying the models as Copilot+ PCs. NEC also bundles its own AI assistant app, LAVIE AI Plus, which can diagnose system issues and suggest fixes. Three configurations are listed: the N1675 at about 313,000 yen, the N1665 at about 291,000 yen and the N1655 at about 275,000 yen.

For lighter travel, NEC unveiled the LAVIE Direct N15 Slim, a 15.3-inch WUXGA notebook weighing about 1.6 kg and measuring 18.9 mm thick. It omits an optical drive and pairs Intel Core 3 processors with Wi‑Fi 7 connectivity. The series starts at about 200,000 yen.

The desktop line-up comprises two all-in-one PCs: the 27-inch LAVIE A27 and the 23.8-inch LAVIE A23. Both displays tilt and slide upward to create space beneath for a 13-inch-class mobile PC, enabling a dual-screen setup. The bundled keyboard supports Bluetooth multi-device pairing, letting users switch instantly between the desktop and up to three other gadgets. Yamaha audio hardware is included. Prices are about 346,000 yen for the A27 and about 330,000 yen for the A23.

NEC also launched two Android 16 tablets, the LAVIE Tab T11N and LAVIE Tab T11. The T11N is aimed at students and comes with an 11-inch 2560×1600 90 Hz display, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, plus a dry-cell AA-powered digital pen and the Nebo note-taking app. The T11 is a family-oriented entry model with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Both tablets support the “LAVIE Connect” feature for drag-and-drop file transfers between phones, PCs and tablets. The T11N is priced at about 75,000 yen and the T11 at about 55,000 yen.
