Hong Kong unveils humanoid robot capable of lifting 50 kilograms for heavy transport and precision tasks
NineRay Technology, a Hong Kong-based company, has presented the RayNex G3, a humanoid robot designed to lift and transport bars weighing 50 kilograms upon receiving voice commands. The robot is the third generation in NineRay’s humanoid lineup, intended to assist humans in heavy-load tasks while also performing precision work and material handling. The RayNex G3 stands at 173 centimeters tall and weighs less than 60 kilograms, closely matching human dimensions. During a demonstration, it lifted a 50-kilogram bar, though its capabilities extend further. According to the manufacturer, it can carry 30 kilograms in routine operations, lift between 100 and 200 kilograms in dead weight, and hold 60 kilograms using both arms. The robot features a proprietary AI architecture called RayBrain, described as a long-chain, end-to-end system integrating perception, planning, and execution. It includes 44 precision sensor sets and a full-body force control system to maintain balance and adjust movements when handling heavy loads. The RayNex G3 is reportedly the first mass-produced humanoid robot combining linear and harmonic SEA joints, distinguishing it from competitors. NineRay’s founder, Xu Zhigen, highlighted the robot’s suitability for high-risk environments such as radiation zones, extreme heat or humidity, infectious disease labs, and technical gas laboratories. The company also targets consumer-facing applications like reception or domestic tasks. NineRay has not disclosed official pricing but mentioned an expected cost of around 200,000 dollars or more, with a projected annual sales target of 10,000 units within two to three years.
