Famous footballer invests in yacht from Poland.
Argentine football star Lionel Messi has ordered a new yacht and will spend between 8 and 9 million euro on it. He has commissioned Polish manufacturer Sunreef Yachts to build the catamaran model Ultima 88.
Messi's new vessel will be constructed at a shipyard in Gdańsk. The yacht features five cabins, spacious leisure decks, and its own garage for a jet ski. The catamaran is powered by two engines, each with a power of 1000 HP.
The project emphasizes comfort and privacy for the owner and his guests. However, it is not known exactly how much Messi will pay for his custom-equipped yacht. The manufacturer has not disclosed either the exact purchase price or the delivery date.
Messi does not appear to be purchasing the yacht solely for private pleasure. The vessel is expected to join his fleet, MIM Ocean. Together with Spanish company Med Cat Yachts, the 2022 World Champion runs a business renting luxury catamarans.
The vessels primarily operate around the Balearics, especially in the areas of Mallorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. Those wishing to rent such a yacht with a crew for a week must pay between 78,000 and 95,000 euro, depending on the season.
Messi is already looking forward to the new unit. According to the Polish portal Trojmiasto.pl, the Argentinean stated: — It is a great pleasure for me to become part of the Sunreef family. My family and I have always loved spending time at sea whenever the opportunity arose. Sunreef yachts have a style and equipment that I greatly appreciate and that perfectly meet my expectations. I cannot wait to try out the Ultima 88.
