Dougs secures 50 million euros from Expedition Growth Capital to scale operations
Dougs, the Lyon-based accounting platform, has closed a 50 million euro funding round with Expedition Growth Capital. This investment follows a previous 25 million euro raise three years earlier and marks the second major commitment from the same investor. The company, which now supports over 50,000 businesses, reports annual recurring revenue of 50 million euros in 2025 and claims 50 percent year-over-year growth. The firm aims to reach 100 million euros in annual recurring revenue. The capital will support two parallel priorities: increasing automation in financial processing and expanding a physical advisory network across France. Dougs was founded after eight years of self-financing. The company's software, built in-house, combines automated bookkeeping with teams of accountants, lawyers, and payroll specialists. The platform aggregates bank transactions, matches receipts, tracks deadlines, and monitors key activity indicators.
Additional services include company creation, legal advice, and social management. Expedition Growth Capital reaffirms its position in the Dougs model. The firm's continued investment aligns with its focus on European technology companies that have developed products and client bases before seeking external capital. Expedition highlights support for commercial development, strategic hiring, and operational organization. For Dougs, the new funding requires coordinating software development with accounting operations capable of handling increased workloads and deadlines. The company's business model relies on subscription plans starting at 79 euros per month. The announced investments in research, development, and artificial intelligence aim to process more operations while reserving professional intervention for controls, exceptions, and advisory roles. The funding will finance automation of production, stronger research and development, and the deployment of a local advisory network in France.
It will also support extending the international model with product adaptations and local accounting competencies. A French online accounting market has evolved through five years of financing and consolidations. Competitors such as Pennylane and Indy have also secured significant rounds. Pennylane, which serves companies and accounting firms with management tools, raised 175 million euros in January 2026. Indy collected 40 million euros in November 2023 to expand services for independent workers. Dougs distinguishes itself by integrating software and service delivery directly, rather than relying on partner networks. Cegid's acquisition of sevdesk in February 2025 illustrates European consolidation trends. The Dougs funding round underscores a market where platforms compete on technology depth, service integration, and geographic reach.
