Corologic, a startup focused on cardiovascular imaging, has secured seed investment to develop an artificial intelligence solution aimed at addressing challenges in medical procedures. The company received funding from Kakao Ventures and Seoul National University Technology Holdings, although the amount has not been disclosed. The investment will be utilized for multi-center clinical trials, product enhancement, and preparation for domestic and international regulatory approvals.

The startup was founded in May by a research team led by a professor specializing in cardiovascular interventions. It is currently developing Angio-FILM, a technology designed to restore low-frame-rate coronary angiography images in real time. This solution uses Video Frame Interpolation (VFI) technology, which allows AI to analyze the position and movement of blood vessels and medical devices between two continuous images to generate intermediate frames. As a result, even with fewer X-ray images taken, medical staff can continuously monitor the movement of blood vessels and surgical instruments.

Corologic aims to maintain image quality while reducing radiation exposure for both patients and medical personnel. A key aspect of their product strategy is that it does not require the replacement of existing angiography equipment. Angio-FILM is designed as a standalone solution that can be added to the imaging systems currently in use at hospitals, processing images in real time within the hospital’s internal edge environment.

The company is focused on minimizing the potential for generating non-existent information during the image restoration process, which is crucial in medical AI. Corologic is designing its model to reduce errors based on a thorough understanding of clinical data and procedural workflows in cardiovascular angiography. The founding team consists of individuals with experience in both medical practice and product commercialization.

Corologic has showcased its research findings and product at significant medical conferences, including EuroPCR 2026 in Paris and the KHF 2026 in August. The company has also completed its medical device notification with the Food and Drug Safety Ministry. Future plans include clinical verification of the product's performance and safety across multiple medical institutions, as well as preparing for regulatory approvals from the Food and Drug Safety Ministry and the FDA 510(k) process.
