Breeze App Grows as Young Users Seek to Meet in Person, Not Chat
AMP reported the story. Breeze, a Dutch dating app, has seen its number of arranged dates rise from 26,000 in July 2025 to 36,000 in July 2026, an increase of roughly 38 percent, according to NL Times.
The app does not offer a standard chat feature after a match. Instead, users input available dates and times, and the app arranges schedules and a meeting location with partner venues such as bars and restaurants. The app partners with more than 1,500 venues, according to its official site.
A subscription model is also absent. Revenue comes only when two matched users actually go on a date. The typical charge is about 10 to 15 euros per date, which includes arranging the match, scheduling, and the first drink at a partner venue.
NL Times reported in August 2026 that Bumble users declined 9 percent year over year in July 2026 and Tinder users declined 14 percent year over year in the same month. The decline has been attributed to what is called "dating app fatigue" among Generation Z.
Breeze's design aims to reduce the steps between matching and meeting in person. The company describes itself as an app that guides online interactions offline.
Safety measures include identity verification, staffed partner venues, and a final confirmation of both participants' attendance before each date. The official site says no-show or no-answer rates are below 1 percent.
The business model differs from traditional engagement-based dating apps, which rely on longer usage time and frequency. Breeze monetizes actual dates rather than keeping users inside the app longer.
