Blizzard Entertainment has revealed Diablo V, the next numbered title in its dark fantasy action role-playing game series, to mark the 30th anniversary of the franchise.

ZDNet Korea reported the story, noting that the announcement took place during the opening stage of BlizzCon 2026. The company aims to release the game in the spring of 2029. The plot focuses on a world where the sanctuary has completely fallen and Diablo has won, meaning players will fight in a collapsed world without safe towns or shelters.

The game will be set in the ruins of Westmarch, where the Lord of Terror reigns. Players will survive by forming wandering trade caravans. The initial class lineup includes the Demon Hunter, the Monk, and a new class called the Plague Knight. Additionally, classic item systems from Diablo 2, such as rune words, inventory size limits, and attribute requirements, will return.

Other updates include the Hell's Legacy season for Diablo 4 starting September 15, and the release of the Amazon class as a pack in the first half of 2027. The Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Collection is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15. Furthermore, Blizzard Entertainment has officially confirmed the production of a new animated series in collaboration with Netflix.
