Audio-Technica Launches ATH AL5NC Wireless Open-Back Headphones
Audio-Technica has released the ATH AL5NC wireless headphones, which are designed for gamers and audiophiles. These headphones combine an open-back design with active noise cancellation technology.
Unlimit Tech reported that the device features Bluetooth 5.3, LDAC high-resolution audio codec support, and 53mm drivers. It provides a frequency range from 20 Hz to 40 kHz and allows simultaneous connection to two devices. The open structure is intended to provide a wide soundstage and prevent heat buildup during long listening sessions.
For gaming and meetings, the headphones include a low-latency mode and a built-in MEMS microphone with a frequency response of 50 Hz to 10 kHz. A 1.2-meter audio cable is provided for wired use with computers, gaming platforms, and digital players, utilizing a cable-integrated condenser microphone that operates from 100 Hz to 10 kHz.
The headphones weigh 240 grams and offer 50 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation enabled. A full charge takes approximately 3.5 hours, while a 15-minute quick charge provides 8 hours of playback. The device includes a mode to reduce sound leakage, though the effectiveness of both this and the noise cancellation is limited by the open-back design. The official price is 279 dollars.
