Amazon Alexa+ Launches for Free in India with Enhanced AI Features

Amazon has launched its upgraded voice assistant, Alexa+, in India, nearly eight years after the original Alexa's debut. The new version is designed to be smarter, capable of understanding natural conversation and complex requests better than its predecessor.

The launch of Alexa+ in India is notable as it is available for free to all users. During the early access period, no subscription will be required. After the initial phase, Prime Members will continue to have access to Alexa+ without any additional fees.

One of the significant features of Alexa+ is its language support specific to India. At launch, it can understand and respond in both Hindi and Hinglish. Amazon has also confirmed that additional languages will be supported in the future.

A unique integration of Alexa+ with Amazon Now allows users to add items to their cart through voice commands during conversations. However, users will need to provide voice confirmation to complete any orders; items will not be ordered automatically.

Alexa+ has been developed to facilitate more natural conversations. It can understand the context of multiple requests made in a single interaction, eliminating the need for users to repeat information. The assistant is designed to remember user preferences and essential details, enabling personalized interactions.

Beyond answering questions, Alexa+ can control compatible smart home devices and assist with various tasks on supported services. The new Alexa+ will be available on Amazon's latest consumer hardware, including the new Fire and Echo devices. ABP Live Tech reported the story.
