YourStory Hindi launches ShuruKar initiative in Patna to empower district-level entrepreneurship
YourStory Hindi reported the launch of ShuruKar in Patna on October 11, 2026. The initiative emerged from The Bharat Project, which seeks to demonstrate that starting a major business does not require residing in a large city. The event took place at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Science City in Rajendra Nagar. ShuruKar is described as the first nationwide district-level campaign of its kind, launched in partnership with DPIIT and Startup India. The program aims to assist young people in identifying local district problems, starting businesses to solve them, and scaling those ventures.
Bihar's Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitish Mishra attended the launch. Founders, students, and young entrepreneurs from various parts of the state also participated. ShuruKar functions as a district-level platform designed to transform local problems into local businesses. Participants must complete four stages: first, identify a real problem in their district that offers a viable business solution; second, refine the idea using an AI Copilot tool; third, receive mentorship from experienced founders extending to the first customer; fourth, connect with local markets, networks, and potential partners.
The initiative operates alongside existing government structures without requiring new schemes or external funding. During the event, the ShuruKar Challenge was announced, inviting youth to present solutions to major national problems. Attendees heard addresses from WOI India CEO Amar Dixit and InUnity co-founder and CEO Johnson Teles. Several founders shared their entrepreneurship journeys, discussing challenges faced and lessons learned. The program concluded with the message "Hoker Nidar, Shuru Kar," encouraging participants to move beyond job-seeking and consider becoming job creators by identifying and solving local problems.
