New Asia Forum Targets 30 Billion Dollars in Investment at Bali Launch
The New Asia Forum aims to secure 30 billion dollars in investment for the region during its inaugural event, which is scheduled to take place in Bali, Indonesia, from December 3 to 4. The gathering is designed to connect long-term capital with opportunities that will shape the future of Asia over the next decade. This new global platform for investment, capital formation, and economic cooperation is launching with a clear vision to serve as a gateway for global capital into the region.
The forum is supported by Danantara Indonesia, the sovereign wealth fund of the Republic of Indonesia, and was organized by Richard Attias & Associates. It operates under the patronage of President Prabowo Subianto. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between the region's economic growth and the inflow of long-term international capital. According to the International Monetary Fund, the Asia-Pacific region already generates approximately 60 percent of global economic growth, yet the scale of long-term international capital inflows remains significantly lower than this contribution. The forum intends to address this disparity by facilitating direct connections between capital and decision-makers.
Unlike traditional conferences, the New Asia Forum is structured to focus on deal readiness, capital execution, and practical implementation. The 30 billion dollar investment target is to be achieved through a curated pipeline of investment-ready business opportunities. Heads of state, ministers, sovereign wealth funds, and chief executive officers of global corporations are expected to participate. These leaders will engage in due diligence processes aimed at converting specific opportunities into concrete investment commitments across eight strategic sectors. These sectors include strategic resources and downstream industries, energy and power, mobility and advanced manufacturing, digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence, food and agriculture, trade and connectivity, tourism and the creative economy, and education and human capital.
The forum plans to establish a permanent platform for responsible execution, partnerships, and investment by continuously tracking investment commitments and implementation status for each session. Rosan Roeslani, chief executive officer of Danantara Indonesia and Minister of Investment, stated that the forum connects global long-term capital to opportunities being created in Indonesia and across Asia. He noted that Danantara Indonesia, as a founding partner, aims to bring partners together to leverage these opportunities and create long-term value. The event is an invitation-only gathering expected to host more than 1,000 leaders. Over the two-day period, more than 100 speakers will participate in over 40 sessions.
