Japanese company Iris Oyama unveils large tablet with magnetic wireless charging

Iris Oyama, a Japanese company, announced its new tablet from the Luca series, designated TM15F1W74-V1H, which is intended for home and workspace use. The device features an unusually large LCD screen measuring 15.6 inches with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, supporting the Widevine L1 security standard for high-definition content playback on digital streaming platforms and e-book reading throughout the home. The tablet incorporates a magnetic mounting system on the rear, allowing compatibility with special accessories, including a magnetic wireless charging platform that powers the tablet up to 15 watts without the need for a direct cable connection, along with adjustable viewing angles.

The company also provides a magnetic mounting ring that serves as a hand grip or desktop stand, which can be used to hang the device on wall hooks or shelves. The tablet operates on a Unisoc T620 processor with 4 gigabytes of RAM, expandable by an additional 4 gigabytes through virtual memory expansion, and has 128 gigabytes of internal storage, running on Android 16.

The device dimensions are 366x234x10.1 mm, weighing 1083 grams, and features an 8000 milliamp-hour battery supporting standard charging at 10 watts and fast charging up to 18 watts via USB-C. It includes a USB-C 2.0 port, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD card slot, supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, and has front and rear cameras of 8 megapixels with autofocus and an integrated speaker. Sales of the device are set to begin in Japan on September 24, following pre-orders at the Iris Plaza store for a price of 71280 yen, which is approximately 460 dollars, alongside the launch of the magnetic accessories, although international availability and pricing have not yet been confirmed.
