Colombian startup raises US$6 million to scale AI sales agents for Spanish‑speaking market
A Colombian startup named Dapta announced a seed round of US$6 million to expand its AI‑driven sales agents that automate selling processes for Spanish‑speaking businesses. The funding was led by Chingona Ventures and included participation from Crew Capital, Broom Ventures and Cometa, with additional backing from pre‑seed investors 500 Global and Fen Ventures. The capital will be used for technology development, customer acquisition and strengthening engineering and product teams. The round follows the launch of Dapti, an autonomous sales agent that operates in Spanish. Dapta was founded by Nicolás Rojas, who began programming at age 13. The company reports over 200,000 registered users, about 4,000 new users each week and US$4 million in annual recurring revenue, three times the figure recorded at the start of 2026. Clients include Rappi, Mercado Libre and Siigo.
Most users are acquired through the company’s own social channels, where Dapta has built an audience of more than 400,000 followers sharing content about AI for small businesses. Dapti charges per qualified meeting rather than per conversation or interaction. The model links service cost to the number of qualified meetings generated for a sales team. According to internal data, companies using the platform are tripling the number of qualified meetings and doubling contact rates. “For years, companies invested in getting more leads. The new challenge is having the ability to serve them all,” said Nicolás Rojas, CEO and founder of Dapta. The round also added Crew Capital, co‑founded by Daniel Dines, founder of UiPath, and Brandon Deer, strategic director of that automation firm, reinforcing Dapta’s credibility in B2B automation. The expansion target is not the entire US market but a specific segment of firms that serve Spanish‑speaking consumers and businesses.
This niche is supported by data showing a 44 % growth in Latino‑owned businesses in the United States over the past five years, one of the most dynamic segments. Dapta already has offices in Phoenix, Arizona, and more than 50,000 companies in Latin America have created autonomous agents on its platform. Samara Mejia Hernandez, founding partner of Chingona Ventures, explained the investment thesis: large firms adopt AI at twice the rate of small firms, but SMEs cannot match those budgets. An always‑available agent gives them the response capacity of a full sales team. Dapta moved from a US$1.4 million pre‑seed round in 2024 to this US$6 million round with a product built in Spanish for a market that major AI platforms often treat as secondary.
