Bending Spoons Acquires Miro for €1.355 Billion

Bending Spoons has acquired Miro, a virtual whiteboard platform used by thousands of companies worldwide, for €1.355 billion. The deal, approved by both companies' boards, values Miro at €1.355 billion, with an additional €435 million in cash held by Miro, bringing the total to €1.79 billion. The acquisition is expected to close in the final quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval. Bending Spoons will acquire 100% of Miro's shares, with some shareholders receiving cash and others reinvesting in Bending Spoons' NASDAQ-listed shares, totaling €295 million.

Founded in 2011 as RealtimeBoard, Miro evolved from a simple whiteboard to a platform for workflow management, application prototyping, and web development. With 4 million paying users and €600 million in annual recurring revenue, Miro is a significant addition to Bending Spoons' portfolio. Bending Spoons aims to retain Miro's high-value customers, though it remains unclear whether the product will remain unchanged or undergo significant modifications, as seen in previous acquisitions.
