Anthropic launches Claude Duet, a proactive personal agent
Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, a personal assistant designed to operate continuously. The service is currently available as a research preview for users in the United States who subscribe to Pro or Max plans.
The new agent is powered by the Claude Opus 5.5 model and utilizes context from the main Claude service to enhance its performance. Each instance of Duet runs on a separate virtual machine equipped with its own dedicated browser.
Anthropic describes Duet as a proactive agent that initiates communication when it determines user attention is required. It also executes tasks that have been previously assigned. The company positions this launch as an entry into the personal agent market, noting similarities to Meta Muse and OpenAI Dots, which also operate on cloud infrastructure.
Users can access Duet through a dedicated application on iOS and Android devices. On personal computers, the service is available via a web browser. The usage quota for Duet is combined with the standard Claude service allocation. Blognone reported the story.
