Wapoo, a video co-creation social platform targeting Gen Alpha, has reportedly raised a multi-million-dollar seed round. According to GeekPark, the round was led by a strategic investor under a major internet group with expertise in global operations, youth ecosystems and emerging markets, with Wonder Capital serving as the sole financial advisor. The company, which employs about ten people, has begun preparing for its next funding round.

Wapoo allows users to repeatedly modify the same video with friends, turning publication into a starting point rather than an endpoint. Generative AI powers edits such as swapping characters, changing perspectives or altering plotlines without requiring users to understand complex models or editing workflows. Each new version remains linked to the original content chain, enabling others to revisit earlier versions or continue branching the story.

The platform’s early focus has shifted from whether users will edit videos to where such editing naturally occurs within social structures. Wapoo has observed that content involving friends, classmates or small groups triggers higher participation, with users inviting others to continue the story. The team is now prioritizing features like friend invitations, content responses, branch displays and group participation to foster these interactions.
