Aeon acquires Aware, Furo raises 4 million euros
Aeon, a Zurich-based HealthTech company, has acquired the insolvent Berlin-based blood testing startup Aware. The acquisition includes the full technology platform, key contracts and equipment, customer relationships, and the core team. Aware's Berlin team will continue operations under the Aeon brand without interruption. This acquisition aims to facilitate faster growth for Aeon in Germany, where it has been active since early 2026.
In the same announcement, Aeon revealed an expansion of its seed investment round to around 12 million euros. The company had previously raised 8.2 million euros in the summer of the previous year. Aware, founded in 2021 by the EyeEm founders, recently raised 15 million US dollars.
Additionally, Furo, a Munich-based startup formerly known as Lumera, has raised 4 million euros from investors including TQ Ventures, Neo, Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, and CDTM Venture Capital. Founded in 2025 by Lena Voß, Leonie Wagner, and Simon Wittner, Furo optimizes the use of battery storage through electricity price and weather forecasts. The startup's software automatically manages storage and markets available capacities on the electricity market. The investment aligns with Furo's strategy of focusing on the German market rather than Silicon Valley.
